Holocausts Remembrance association continues their mission providing help to Ukraine. The container with heaters and non-perishable food items had arrived to Ukraine , February 2023 . Retired teachers had received humanitarian help.

The Brooklyn Job Fair

Almost 1000 visitors and about 70 employers have gathered in one place! On February 1, 2023, the Jewish Community facebook.com/MarksJCH hosted a grand event - the Brooklyn Job Fair. This large-scale meeting was organized for Ukrainians to help newcomers in various areas: from finding a job to assistance in obtaining the necessary documents.

Our Humanitarian Center for Assistance to Refugees from Ukraine was among the many participants . We provide help with: Identity card (ID); driver's license; medical insurance; bank account; documents for kindergarten and school; assistance in finding job and housing.

All the information is provided free of charge. The center is open on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00. We also provide assistance with food (you can sign up for food packages in our office). If you need the help of a notary or legal assistance, as well as sending parcels, then our partners will help you resolve these issues for a minimal fee. For those who were unable to attend the event, in the photos attached below you will find a list of employers who took part in the fair.

Эта масштабная встреча была организована для украинцев, чтобы помочь вновь прибывшим в разных сферах: от поиска работы до помощи в оформлении необходимых документов.

Среди участников был и наш Гуманитарный Центр помощи беженцам из Украины. Мы будем полезны, если вам необходима помощь в оформлении: удостоверения личности (ID); водительских прав; медстраховки; банковского счета; документов в детский сад и школу; помощь в поиске работы и жилья.

Мы проконсультируем вас в решении этих вопросов. Напоминаем, что вся информация предоставляется совершенно бесплатно. Центр работает по будням с 10:00 до 17:00. Также мы оказываем помощь с продуктами питания (выдаем продуктовые наборы по предварительной записи). Если Вы нуждаетесь в помощи нотариуса или в юридической помощи, а также отправки посылок, то наши партнеры помогут вам в решении этих вопросов за минимальную плату. Holocaust Remembrance Association hosted a food giveaway to families of recent Ukrainian refugees on January 11, 2023. We have received a special visit from our New York City Council Member, Ari Kagan, who joined us in distributing food packages to many women and children in need in addition to presenting the NYC Council Citation to volunteers.

On Monday, October 10, 2022, Senator Chuck Schumer met with the members of the Ukraine community, Political leaders, and members of the Holocaust Remembrance Association - led by Holocaust survivors Samuel Bykov. Senator Schumer pledged his ongoing support to the Ukrainian people and resources to the Ukraine military to defend its country.
On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, New York Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus honored Mitya Samuel Bykov, Holocaust survivor and Chairman of the Holocaust Remembrance Association, for his work with refugees. Today HRA has served more than 1600 refugees providing food, shelter, insurance, education, a place to live, and much more.

Holocaust Remembrance Association created a center for Ukrainian refugees to get free help with:

  • searching for a job

  • opening a bank account

  • obtaining a driver's license

  • obtaining health insurance

  • learning English

With the money that were raised during the charity concert Holocaust remembrance association got necessary medical supplies and sent a container to Ohmatdyt children’s hospital in Kiev, Ukraine.

Samuel Bykov, Olga Fort, and Bill Tingling, met with Ukraine Council General Oleksii Holubov in New York to discuss future help for Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees here in Brooklyn.
