Mission Statement

Holocaust Remembrance Association has made it its mission to ensure that future generations not only acknowledge and understand what was lost during the Holocaust, but also that it is never forgotten and will never happen again.  With nearly 40,000 Holocaust survivors residing in New York, 40 percent of whom are living in poverty, it is our obligation as a society to ensure that those who suffered the worst atrocities live the rest of their lives with dignity and respect.

The Holocaust Remembrance Association believes in the commitment to ensuring that hatred and bias, including antisemitism, have no place in our society.  The disturbing continuation of antisemitic incidents and other hate crimes across the country reinforces the importance of never forgetting and continuing to educate all people about the horrors of genocide.  We strongly believe that the prevention of hate crimes needs to start with our younger generation and by helping our children recognize and talk about discrimination, we help them become adults who will work to end it.  Our programs aim to confront the bigotry and intolerance that pose significant threats to the full participation of all Americans in a democratic society.
